The fidget spinner has gained so much popularity these days that every other kid you see is playing with one of these gadgets. These devices claim to be tools to help you concentrate and focus more and are suitable for those with ADHD or disorders where focus and concentration is difficult. Despite it’s popularity and intended use fidget spinners are quite dangerous especially for children.
1. They are a choking hazard
Fidget spinners are ranked 1st in the “w.a.t.c.h.’s top 10 summer safety traps for 2017” by toysafety.org because the small pieces can get stuck in children’s throats.
2. Contains dangerous chemical
Traces of lead have been found in some fidget spinners, the amount may not be deadly but the presence of lead these devices where mostly children handle them is quite alarming.
3. Children can get their fingers stuck in the bearings
Children with small fingers can easily get their fingers stuck in the holes of certain parts of the fidget spinner.
4. The spinning device may cause injury
An 11 year old boy from Australia was seriously injured while doing tricks with one of these fidget spinners. The boy tossed the fidget spinner in the air and wasn’t able to catch it. It then hit him in the eye which lead to partial blindness.
5. They are the work of the devil
Some say that fidget spinners symbolize 666 or the devil and is the work of the Illuminati.
